I do

I do have pictures I need to post I even attempted to upload them and share them with you but when I sat the computer - it was being slower than molasses. I have the attention of a 2 year old some time so I let the computer "boot up" the page but it was taking forever that I left the room and watched TV. Well I am not even sure the site came up I never went back and checked. Then We left for a birthday dessert at my Grandmas house for my BFF Arielle - so I didn't get the pictures uploaded. I will try again tomorrow night.
Tonight I get to go back to Fox 13 and I am doing the teleprompter for the 9 p.m. NEWSCAST!! I am super excited - I get to meet the night side reporters and anchors. On Friday I didn the 5 p.m. news cast and I walked in the studio and went to my desk and this is what happened:
(Bob Evans looked at me with this confused looked upon his face)
Bob: (in my Bob Evans voice) I don't know you - I'm Bob Evans.
Me: HI Bob I'm Deanna and I'll be your teleprompter today.
Bob: Sounds great welcome Deanna nice to have you here!

He was ever so nice - Hope wasn't ther that night just Bob so Maybe tonight I will get the chance to meet Hope. It's nice to do other shows but it makes me realize how much I love the 11 o'clock cast - maybe because I am just used to there style and rundown. The other times I just had to learn and wing how they did things. But I think I did pretty good. To off to tonight!
I love the news!

So pictures soon.... when I don't know when I have the paitence with technology.

Six Years!

Can you believe it? I can't!! Kelly and I have been married for 6 years yesterday! Holy cow where does time go? We had a great weekend. We decided to get a way for awhile and just hang out with us for our 6 years. We went up to Park City and did absolutely nothing! It was great!! We got up there Friday night and sat in bed and watched movies. Saturday I was up bright and early at 8 a.m. went running then got ready to go get our massages. Went up to the Homestead and got massages and facials. Yes I made Kelly get a facial I told him he had to at least try it and if he didn't like it then he doesn't have to do it again. Well he didn't like it. So Facials and pedicures are out for him ha ha. We had so much fun though. Then we shopped for a little bit then went to dinner and back to sitting in bed watching movies. Really it was the best weekend ever. We had nothing to do and we did just that. A great way to spend our anniversary.
I did get after him last night as we were sitting in bed when I asked where my flowers were. He promised me that he would always get me flowers for our anniversary - one flower for every year we have been married. Last year we were in LA - no flowers - this year - no flowers!!!! He is failing at this!

I really couldn't ask for anyone better than Kelly. He is so paitent with me, he usually agrees with me to make me happy. He loves me and loves to buy me things (which I love) He works so hard for our family - okay me and Router. He goes along with all my crazy plans and ideas and weird habits I do. He is a great husband I couldn't ask for anything more! Love you Kel - happy 6 years Yesterday!

My Ode to the Chipotle

This is so random but:
Do you have a favorite food that you just love and adore and when you get to eat it your life feels so complete? Well this week mine is this little fella'

The Chipotle Pepper!!

I don't know what it is about this but it makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Now finding it was another story. I had to go to 2 different grocery stores and I actually ended up with chipotle in adobe sauce - which turned out to be good. What is adobe sauce - I don't know
My fetish of this pepper started many years ago at a family reunion. I have this wonderful cousin who is a divine chef (even though I have only tried one things of his, I live vicariously through my family who has been to his resturant). At this family reunion we all had to bring a dish to share - and since we were camping most of us brought typical camping dishes - some came from dutch ovens, others were salads of some sort. I actually can't even remember what we ate there except for corn on the cob with Chipotle sauce and cheese. Yes he BBQ some corn on the cob then rubbed chipotle HOMEMADE might I add and sprinkled it with fresh grated cheese. Ohhh my life was changed forever!! I sucked that cob right down and re-applied the chipotle just to eat it again. Ever since that day I have "thought" about cooking with chipotle but never have. Well one day while at work at Fox 13 during the cooking show Todd one of the cooks made Mac and Cheese with Chipotle. My mouth watered!! So I made it the other day and it was delicious. (thank you Nate and Wendy for being my "testers") Well now I have a dish full of chipotle.. so now I put it in things when I can. I made chicken crepes last night - I added a TBSP of chipotle and it was DELICIOUS!!!
So I thank you Jared for beginning my fetish with chipotle - now what to add it to next??
Any weird things you love to eat?

Oh Hall -o - weenie

We had a great Halloween! It was my year to host our annual halloween party and I think I did okay! We had tons of yummy food, fun games and great company.

Mom's "puking pumpkin" She said she was going to make Swamp dip which sounded just as gross. I told her on Fox 13 they made a puking pumpkin and told her to go check out it out. So she did, and puking pumpkin was born. I think it turned out great - and it tasted delicous!

I made "eyeballs" they tasted just like reeses PB cups!! Thanks Mel for the recipe
And what party would be complete without GAMES I spent all week searching for unique games to play in a group and this is what I came up with:
Pumpkin bowling

Villian and superhero games

Pumpkin carving contest

Jenn's pumpin won (third from top, it has a lil' pumpkin in its mouth) - we asked people walking by which they thought was their favorite and they picked Jen's. My Mom's was super cool and very unique I liked hers alot!!
And a Cake walk. Basically we had ghost with number on the floor and when the music stopped everyone had to jump on a ghost then we picked a number and whomever was on that number got a prize!!
We had a lot of fun!! I tend to get a little "excited" or "stressed" as some may call it, but I just want things to go well and people to have fun. I think I did well though, Kelly reminded me to breath. I didn't even have my costume complete by the time people started to show up and I was still veining my eyes and making root beer - but it all turned out great!! Thanks Kelly, my Mom and Jolene for all their help! We always have a lot of fun!
Seeing everyone's costumes was so much fun!
My brother- in-law was a huge hit, he came as the Burger King King. It was so funny the kids loved getting their candy from him. They kept asking where their hamburger was - and they all came back many times during the night. The best part was he ran around our neighborhood just like he does in the commercials!! So if you saw him running around I do apologize - but it was so funny.

Here are the other dressed up:

Our door was always busy! We had so much candy, I had bought two huge bags of candy, my mom brought 4 bags of candy and my aunt brought some candy as well and we STILL ran out we were turning people away!!! I told them we had a lot of kids in our neighborhood.

(tangent beware)

I was so annoyed though the kids started to come trick or treating at 4 in the afternoon!! Don't they eat dinner?? Doesn't that take the fun out of dressing up all scary like to walk around in the daylight? I thought so.. but whatever!! I remember when I was young we had to eat dinner and wait till it got JUST dark enough that we could still see but it was still dark. That was the fun of trick-or-treating!! We would be out till our fingertips got so cold that we couldn't hold our pillow cases anymore. That is what trick-or-treating was for us as kids. Those same kids that started at 4 came back to our house at least 3 times - I think they were only allowed to go down our street.
Over all we had a great Halolween!! Thanks everyone for coming! Happy Halloween!

Corn Maze

Corn Maze
Another first!!! Can you believe Kelly has never been in a corn maze? What kind of deprived child is he? What did they do in CC for fun? Well at least he wasn’t the only one, Aunt Jo hadn’t either. But we had a lot of fun. We got there at dusk and started the maze.

(No Kelly isn't drunk he just looks like it)

Rule # 1: plan ward robe ahead of time.
I worked on Friday and we aren’t allowed to wear tennis shoes or “casual” shoes to work, and we were staying the night at my sisters house to watch my nephew so he could get to school on Friday morning since we both had to work early on Friday. So the only shoes I brought with me to wear to work were my black high heel boots… well then we went to a corn maze. Not the best shoes to wear, but I did just fine. I only slightly fell like once J But still not fun to wear.

Rule #2: Don’t lay down on groud to scare people.
Kelly wanted to scare us as we came around corners so he laid down on the groud.. well he didn’t scare us and he also lost his phone. So I walked around calling his phone hoping someone would find it. Well good thing someone did - and then I got to walk around screaming till they found me! Rule

#3: Follow the rules.
Okay so the rules weren’t really laid out to us, turn right at true, or turn left at false… yeah it was so confusing – just ask someone or walk around till you find someone! LOL

Rule #4: Must finish with ice cream.
Finished the night off with Letherby’s ice cream!! We had a lot of fun at the corn maze – try it this year if you get a chance!

Phoenix

So I have never been to Phoenix so when my work wanted to send me to “train” I jumped at that offer. Leaving Salt Lake City on a Wednesday to 45 degree overcast weather dressed in long sleeve shirt, pants, and boots flying into Phoenix with 85 degree weather and sunny was like heaven – with a side of the wrong type of clothing! Why don’t I live there? Oh right because it gets up to 120 in the summer time. I am seriously considering buying a winter home and moving my work there for the winter.. ohh it was HEAVENLY!! Ohh how I needed th at little break of sun. I am not quite ready for the winter storms, snow, sleet, cold, ice –ICE as cold penguins and ICE!! Nope not ready for that yet, I think its because my summer was shortened due to the rainy month of June!! We were jipped!!I met with my current boss’s old assistant when he worked in Phoenix last year. She is 77 years old, has worked for UOP for the last 28 years and has her own little system.

He wanted me to go down there so she could show me how she did things for him and how to use the systems I would be using. My boss is the worldest busiest person he would never have time to teach me all of that. So those two days with Cam were more than helpful. All I have to say about her is she is the CUTEST lady in the entire world!!!!! Ohh my gosh I wanted to eat her up and take her home with me and call her Grandma Cam. We had so much fun. We went to lunch, she trained me and we laughed like you wouldn’t believe. Ohh Cam I adore you!! It was the funnest and shortest trip ever!! Phoenix is so amazing they have so much to do!! Shopping wise I guess that’s pretty much what I did everyday night. They have malls after malls after malls!! WOW it was fun.
I even got to see the Mesa Temple.

They had these fruit trees, I think Lemons or limes not sure.. but all the trees that bore fruit they were painted –

It was so strange, but I couldn’t figure out why..

So it was a short trip but it was so fun. I love the sun, and I miss the heat! I am already counting down the days till Spring – Sad I know!

Oh what a night!

So I need you to imagine this all happening.

I'ts 11:50 on Saturday night Kelly has been home for about 45 mins. We just got ready for bed and were saying our nightly prayers. Right in the middle of our prayer Kellys phone goes off, that really annoying ring that sounds like a maraca or something. Well when Kelly's phone goes off that late at night its only one thing: WORK!!! It is always the alarm company. So we stop our prayers - okay he does I finish. He is on the phone with them for about 10 min as they are trying to tell him that the store's alarm wasn't set that night. He closed the store himself so he knows he set the alarm. Okay he says he will be the the store in 30 min. He has to go to to the store to re-set the alarm so they can see it on there side. I jump in the car with him so he doesn't have to go alone, and Router comes. Its a family afair!
We had to stop and get gas so we didn't get to the store till almost 12:45 at night. Kelly pulls up right in front of the store's doors and leaves the car on and me inside with the dog while he goes in to turn the alarm off, then re set it so the alarm company can see it's been set (again). He does it quickly and comes out and sits in the car and calls the alarm company to tell them the job has been done. Well no surprise they say they show thats it hasn't been done. Hmm thats weird because we are sitting in front of the store, the doors are all locked and Kelly just re-set the alarm once again. They tell him that they want to make sure the alarm is working that they need to see if they actually have security in the store. By this time, it's like one in the morning. Well The Sports Authority is right by a whole bunch of neighborhoods and he doensn't really want to trip the alarm to have it sound with lights and all just to see if it works. Well he doesn't really want to sleep at the store either. So back in he goes. This time he trips the alarm. The lights are flashing, the sirens are going off like crazy. Here I sit in our "get away car" right out front of the store, lights on with a dog running around the car. We are right in on the side of the movie theater that still has lots of cars in the parking lot mind you. Kelly is just hanging out inside talking on the phone while the sirens are still going off.
I see this car in the distance and it's coming our way. Well I don't really want to be in this car alone, while the sirens are going off... so I lean over to roll up the windows, and lock the doors just at this mini van goes by me. Yes that is me sitting in our get a way car. Thats all I can think is going through this persons head that just passed us.. that we were trying to rob the store!!! ohh geez!.
Well Kelly finally turns the alarm off and sets the alarm again and lockes the door and comes back out to the car. Yet again he calls the alarm company.. and what do you know they show that they had the alarm go off.. but ahh they don't see that the alarm was set yet again!! Well it was!!! So he has to call his assest protection guy to tell him all about this so he can let the alarm company know that they are aware of the problem.
Ohh just what pulls up behind us with is blue and red lights flashing? A cop in a MINI VAN? ever seen that happen? Neither have I. So we have to explain what we are doing - we was just as confused as us. He said and I quote: "I could see the lights going off in my binoculars but I counldn't see the alarm on dispatch" So he was watching us from a distance with is binoculars...... oh and I am pretty sure he is the one that passed us before. So to make it short the alarm works the alarm company just shows is that it's not on. Whatever. We get the approval that the store is save and we get to go home... roughly 1:25.

Ohh the joys of being a store manager...... oh the joys of being a wife of a store manager.

So anther first this week: a cop in a mini van!

Ohh what a night!

Labor Day

Yep I am just getting to Labor Day photos, what can I say I have been busy.. or maybe blogging isn't on the top of my list. But I am here... alive and well!
Well we had a first in our family... okay just for Kelly. He had never been to Timpanogos
Cave before, neither had my aunt Jolene. So for Labor Day we thought, why not!! Kelly actually had the holiday off (shocker) that never happens. So we had to take advantage of it. Well everyone had the same idea. We were lucky we got tickets, thanks Russell and Arielle for being up the mountain and stopping by and getting us all tickets. Well since it was a first for not only Kelly and Jo, it was also a first for Bob, and Zach.. so we had a family outing!
The Newbies made it to the Top!!!!

This is Kelly and I on the wall, Zach wanted in on this action, he tried to climb the wall himself. So i helped him up. Its funny how he knew just what to do!

Inside the cave! And of course the "heart" of Timpanogos! Really we live in a cool place where we have this amazing cave 25 minutes away from us. The 1.5 mile hike up the mountain in beautiful... example:

It's so pretty up there, and the cave is amazing, so if you haven't had the chance to do this - I suggest you do it quickly, or put it on your things to do next summer. It really is worth is.
We had a ton of fun, next year we want to do the cave tour where you have to use a hard hat and you get to repel in parts of the cave!

First Day

First day of being an actual STORE MANAGER!!!!! He thought I was a dork for making him do this... but doesn't he look like he is going to his first day of school? I love it!!! makes me laugh so much. I got up at 5:30 and made him a great breakfast, and packed him a lunch so really he couldn't say no when I forced him to take this picture. So if he looks tired it's because he did just get up, slept in while I slaved over his breakfast and lunch!
That's right folks Kelly is the NEW store manager for The Sports Authority at The District. So here is the rule, if you need ANYTHING sports related you are now commanded to ONLY shop at The Sports Authority at the Disctrict.
I am super proud of you Kelly, you have worked so hard to become the actually store manager. I know you will do amazing things with that store and that you will get all the employees excited about everything. Things are going up from here!! Good job babe!! And Good Luck!!
On a side note, just for those that don't know but I did get a part time job, I am a studio tech at Fox 13 News. I work 2 hours a day, but it's the best two hours of my life!!! So good things are coming to both of us in our careers!

Project!

So I have become very bored!! Bored with my house and I need to spruce things up. I have put this off long enough and one day I just unscrewed it from the hindges and I did it!! I painted my bathroom cabinets!!

I loved how it turned out!! So I am now on a quest for a shower curtain so I can match paint and paint my downstairs bathroom cabinets. I think I am going to make the downstairs one a little more "bold" color - like a green or a tourquise!!! But i have to find just the right color.
It was easy and fun to paint.
Hmm what else can I paint around here?

Pink ruffles

Thats a great business name eh? I think I just might have to start a business with a name like that. Hmm what should I sell?
Well my darling friend Lexi is having a baby girl this October, but since she lives SO far away she came home to have a baby shower with her family and friend her. I made her a present I was super excited about it. I got the idea from my sister Jenn after she made one for her friend that was having a baby. So I went to my Moms and with her expertise she helped me sew her present.
My Mom is a master seamstress I remember as kids she would make us anything and everything! She even made us our own underwear - mine had apples on it - hmm I just told you what my underwear looked like, that was weird. But really my mom is a genius when it comes to sewing (and other things, just one of her many talents). She would make all of our halloween costumes, all our school play costumes, she made bridesmaids dresses for my sisters wedding, she made clothes for school, she helped me with dresses I wanted to make, with headbands, if I came to her with an idea I always can count on her that she will be able to help me. One of the many things I wish I got from my Mom - sewing is hard but with my moms help I can make wonderful things.

This is me sewing, with the help of Mom of course!

And the finished Product!! Didn't it turn out so Cute!!!
We cut and sewed on each layer of that tutu. As the layers got on, the hard and hard it was to sew on. It was a lot of work and took a good 3 hours to do - but it was so ABORABLE!! I finished it off by putting some iron on rhinestones on the front - really added to it!! YEAH look how crafty I am! Thanks Mom for helping me and your paitence as I sew -probably not the eaisest thing to watch as I break needle after needle and get the thread tied up in balls. Thanks Mom!! Thanks Lexi for having a girl so I could make this adorable outfit - hope you liked it!

Canada eh?

I love my family!!! We only have a family reunion with the Parker side every 2 years so going to Canada is always a treat!!! I make the request that I didn't want to be stuck in a car, driving to Canada, eating soggy cake (love you Mom for at least brining me a cake) so this year I requested that we leave before my birthday. And since I am the Princess we did just that. We left Tuesday night getting out of town around 6 p.m. Stopping for gas, and eating we got to Raymond Canada about 4 a.m. We were SO TIRED!!! Slept for a few hours and off we went to see Grandpa and my aunt and uncle in Cardston (about 30 min away) We had dinner reservations at my uncle Reeds house so off to Raymond again to eat delicous BBQ chicken and beef (for the meat eaters of course) Uncle Reed makes one GOOD BBQ. It was delicious. Well it's tradition now to go to the hood-a-rite colony, why I don't know because they are such fasinating people. They are kind of like the Amish, but they believe in technology, they dress like the pligs, but thy only have one wife. They live a very simple life, where they live off everything they grow. They cook, grow gardens, go to school, go to church all on their colonies. They go into town to sell their goods, and for appointments and things like that. They are the friendliest people you will ever meet and they will do anything for you. We went there so my uncle could get a back of potatoes and we ended up leaving with potatoes, pees, head of califlower, head of purple califlower, cabbage, 2 loafs of bread all for $5. The girls took us on a tour of the colony showing us where they go to school, church, laundry, where they eat, milk the cows, where the cows are raised- everything. They are just as curious with us as we are with them. They are super nice and we always love to go see them. I didn't have any picturs of them because they don't believe in getting their pictures taken, something about it takes a part of your soul. Interesting culture and life style they have.

Thursday was my Birthday!!! Kelly had baloons, and a crown for me!! I wore the pink boa all day! The rest of my brother and sisters got there that morning so we decided to go see Waterton. It's a toursist attraction, it has hiking, shopping, swimming (if you like the cold) and it's always fun to go see. We saw a deer, close enough that we even petted it. We even saw a BEAR!!! WAHOO We had a great birthday!! Had GROSS pizza for dinner but great company. It was a nice relaxing birthday.
Then the family reunion!! My family is always wild and crazy and we think of the fun things to do. This year we had a Amazing race - we had to complete all these task and be first to the finish line. Had all the same rules as the TV version, just on a smaller scale to fit into our camp site. Just some of the things we did, eat a pie (check the pictures) eat jellow with a spoon, chug a liter of soda, eat all my grandpas favorite things: sea weed, some kind of meat product.. I don't know what else I didn't have to eat them. We had to untie ropes, launch and catch water baloons. We had so much fun. Unfortuanly my team came in 4th place.. but we would have been 1st if it wasn't for some mis-communication with the committee. All in all we had so much fun with the race!! Then we hit the lake for a nice cool dip!! Uncle Reed bought Jet Skis so we tubbed and rode around the lake all afternoon. FUn in the sun!! Nights in Canada are always cool and the bugs are dreadful - if you aren't careful they will eat you alive. Being with family is always so much fun, specially with my family we have 11 brothers and sisters on my Dad's side, about 64 grand children and a heap load of great grand children. So when we get together we GET TOGETHER!!! Thanks for a great reunion and a wonderful Holiday!!! Enjoy the pictures of our trip!
