Animals to Helicopters

We had quite the day yesterday!! Met up with my brother and sister in law for some haircuts, waxing and BBQ at there house. Its always a good time watching Kelly get his nose hairs waxed. Then they suggested we go to Wheeler Farm. Of all the years I have lived here I don't ever remember ever going to Wheeler Farm!! WOW that place is so much fun! We fed ducks, petted goats, fed geese, saw rabbits, and horses (who had the farts) and cows, and wow that place is fun!! Kairi loved all the animals and wasn't scared like when we saw the baby chicks at IFA. Yes she was afraid of the baby chicks at IFA what a weird child, but she was okay to sit on my lap as I fed a goose, a honking goose!!

I wanted to take a baby duck home!!

I think she was trying to make the face of a goat

After the farm Cody was flying in from Canada on his way down south to a fire. So we got to meet him at the airport and take a little tour of his helicopter and see what he "says" he does at work. I would not enjoy flying long distances in the back of a helicopter, talk about close uncomfortable quarters. I guess thats why he is the pilot and get the comfy seat. But needless to say we had fun goofing on, the other firefighters probably thought we were weirdos, but who doesn't? Kairi was tired, and hungry and didn't want anyone but Mom but she still seemed to like being in there.

So thanks Cody for letting us come see you!!

This is how they repel out of the helicopter?! okay maybe not even close...

I had to laugh at this picture, my brother in the background!!!! AH AH AHAHAHA

Thanks again Cody!

Vertically on the move

Yep she is on the move!! She wouldnt let this toy out of her site once she started going. I might just have to get her one. She is growing up way to fast!

Don't pee in the pool

Okay I have figured out the number one reason to have kids......
SO YOU CAN PLAY WITH THERE TOYS AND FEEL COMPLETLY OKAY WITH IT!!!

Wow its great, and man am I looking forward to many many more days of this....

Yep thats me lounging in Kairis new pool we got her. She LOVES IT!!! We hook the hose up to the washer spout add a little warm water with the cool water... and WAHLA you have bath water in your outside pool and a happy kiddo!! I get to sit out in the sun, bask in the sunlight, sip my drink, relax all while Kairi is next to me laughing and playing playing in the pool. Man this is the life... why ever did I wait 7 years to have kids?

We took the pool over to our friend Wendys house and let our kids play in the pool we were probably in there for a good 3 hours. I took Kairi out and she was just raisen foot. She grabbed her foot played with the raisens, look at me all confused then laughed. She is a water baby. Today my sister and I took out kids to a pool near her house, she was kicking her feet laughing at me. I would put her on the side of the pool and she would "jump" in to my arms and laugh. (well as much as she could jump/stand) We had a great day, can't wait for many more pool days this summer... to bad the warm weather started so LATE this year!

Happy Swimming

BIRDS

Just because we are not collecting ants, doesn't mean I want to start collecting other things...

Well this bird didn't get that memo. I had a bird fly into my garage and make itself at home, so much it didn't want to leave. I had left my garage door open all day hopeing it would leave. By 10 pm it was curling up and going to sleep. I didn't want the little fellow to die in my hot garage during the night, or freak out and fly into something.. I didn't want to find a dead bird in the morning. I called Kelly at work and told him to pick up a birds cage..... he thought I was serious. NO more wild life!!! So with the help of my wonderful neighbor, a broom, a rake and a dust pan all bird catching material the bird finally swooped out the garage door. But not after much trouble and a few hits to the head on the wall, the ping pog table, the doll house... poor little guy. He flew into the tree and I told him to stay away from cats and rest. I hope he lived.

ANTS

So for fathers day Kelly decided he wanted to get an ant farm. He talked about this ant farm for days, telling me how cool it was as a kid and how he loved his. He even called him mom to see if she kept his ant farm (only cause she keeps EVERYTHING - love you Annette ) Well she didn't. I wasn't to sure about this ANT FARM... I mean there friggin ants! I squish ants with my shoe, I flick them with my finger, I spray them with bug killer there are annoying little pests and he wants to keep them in my house? Well one day he calls me on his way home from work and tells me he is going to buy an ant farm..... FINE!!! So it comes and boy is he ever excited hes like a kid again!! He puts it together and now he has to get ants...

Yes this is a grown man using a paper to chase ants around my yard to put them in a bottle to put in his farm. First he tried to use tweezers... weird tweezers squish ants. So yes he is collecting ants. Then he decides that "sugar ants" or the ants you find around your house are lame and he doesn't want them. There to small and he wants the big ants! So up the hill he goes with the dog to find a ANT HILL. When they finally finds a hill Kelly has to collect the big ants.. and they bite. The dog tries to help and gets bit and gets all hot and wants to go home. So I find Kelly sitting in the kitchen with his ants he just collected watching them in his farm.

And I have to admit the ants are pretty cool they work hard, and fast and they are pretty fasinating. Have you ever sat and watched fish swim in a tank? You kind of get mesmerized by them.. thats how the farm is. It's actually pretty cool. So I was watching the ants and then they started to slow down and go to sleep. Well I was reading up on ants in ant blogs (yes there are blogs devoted to ANTS) and people said that you have to open the top of the ant farms once in awhile to give the ants air but you have to be careful cause the ants will go up the top and try to get out. So as I sit and watch the ants, and see there sleeping I think hmm this is a good time to give them air. Well appartently those Ant bloggers have lame farms cause ours you don't have to open the top to give them air, the top has tiny tiny holes for air. Well I didn't know that so I open the little compartment and it falls in the ant farm!!! yeah I know! So Kelly and I are trying to get this little door out with a butter knife and tweezers because we don't have anything long enough to grab the door. Well I had the butter knife and the ants are freaking me out and running all over the place, trying climb up my knife all over the farm. I ruined there home, I diturbed there sleep. Well then I started freaking out cause they were trying to get out, and climbing all over, and I didn't want them to bite me! The trap door was finally retreived from the farm, but alas we had a few casulties, I had managed to squish at least 4 of the ants, and one was missing half of his body but was still walking around. If he survives we are calling him Elvis. So I am now banned from touching the ant farm with my hands, Im not allowed to feed the ants. I may look but not touch. Very tramatic experience.

Do Happy Fathers Day Kelly you have your ants

But this is is favorite part about Fathers Day. He loves that little girl, and boy does she love him!!! She is really great at giving kisses now!

Happy Fathers Day Kelly!!

Tantrums

Yes we have started the tantrum stage....where do they learn this??? OH man we now call Kairi the Kairi the velociraptor. Cause man this girl can scream like one!! I don't know what was with her this day, I was trying to get dinner ready so we could get to Red Butte Garden and all she wanted to do was scream at me. I was trying to keep her away from the hot oven, and make pizza dough, and listen to her scream HIGH PITCH for like 2 hours!! She would throw herself on the ground kick and scream and kick and scream. Finally I had to get the camera out and prove it to someone that she was acting like this. And everytime she saw the camera she would scream more then look at the camera and do it all over again like she was putting on a show! ohh man I wanted to give her away...

And then we get to Red Butte Gardens and she is happy as a Lark. No tears, no fussing - all peaches and cream when Grandma is around.

Later on I did find that she had burned her little fingers on my oven, so that could have been part of the tantrums...but most of it was her being a raptor! So now we are starting to try something new. Everytime she decideds to yell at me I get the spray bottle and spray her in the face with a very fine mist of water and then camly tell her we don't scream then show her the sign language for whatever she wants or things she needs. Its a trying time... well see. No more raptor screams I might go crazy!! Having kids is just like raising a dog....

Scottish Festival

Yep its that time again!! My family LOVES going to the scottish festivals - somewhere we have to be part Irish! And Kairi loves them just as much as we do! We had a lot of fun, she danced to all the bagpippers and was so interested in them playing. We had a had day the 2nd day we got there. I pulled up the festival and went to get her out and she had thrown up all over herself in her seat. PEAS EVERYWHERE!!! So here I sat with a naked baby trying to clean up peas.... blah not what I wanted to start my afternoon out with. But we made it and cleaned up and had a great time.... then she was sick that night - lots of sheet changing. Stupid stomach flu bug that has been going around hate it when Kairi gets it I never know how to truley help her. But alas we had a great Scottish Festival...and another first for Kairi.

She loves her Uncle Russell - they were watching the bagpippers play..so intently watching.

This is what they were watching and our favorite part. Actually this guy is Russells bagpip instructor ( I don't know if I am supposed to share that with people. I don't know anyone knows he takes classes or wants people to know so pretend you don't know) But oh man I could listen to them play all day!

This year we hit the sauce a little early - gotta have our Bison Brew!

Until Next year.....
