BIRDS
ANTS
Yes this is a grown man using a paper to chase ants around my yard to put them in a bottle to put in his farm. First he tried to use tweezers... weird tweezers squish ants. So yes he is collecting ants. Then he decides that "sugar ants" or the ants you find around your house are lame and he doesn't want them. There to small and he wants the big ants! So up the hill he goes with the dog to find a ANT HILL. When they finally finds a hill Kelly has to collect the big ants.. and they bite. The dog tries to help and gets bit and gets all hot and wants to go home. So I find Kelly sitting in the kitchen with his ants he just collected watching them in his farm.
And I have to admit the ants are pretty cool they work hard, and fast and they are pretty fasinating. Have you ever sat and watched fish swim in a tank? You kind of get mesmerized by them.. thats how the farm is. It's actually pretty cool. So I was watching the ants and then they started to slow down and go to sleep. Well I was reading up on ants in ant blogs (yes there are blogs devoted to ANTS) and people said that you have to open the top of the ant farms once in awhile to give the ants air but you have to be careful cause the ants will go up the top and try to get out. So as I sit and watch the ants, and see there sleeping I think hmm this is a good time to give them air. Well appartently those Ant bloggers have lame farms cause ours you don't have to open the top to give them air, the top has tiny tiny holes for air. Well I didn't know that so I open the little compartment and it falls in the ant farm!!! yeah I know! So Kelly and I are trying to get this little door out with a butter knife and tweezers because we don't have anything long enough to grab the door. Well I had the butter knife and the ants are freaking me out and running all over the place, trying climb up my knife all over the farm. I ruined there home, I diturbed there sleep. Well then I started freaking out cause they were trying to get out, and climbing all over, and I didn't want them to bite me! The trap door was finally retreived from the farm, but alas we had a few casulties, I had managed to squish at least 4 of the ants, and one was missing half of his body but was still walking around. If he survives we are calling him Elvis. So I am now banned from touching the ant farm with my hands, Im not allowed to feed the ants. I may look but not touch. Very tramatic experience.
Do Happy Fathers Day Kelly you have your ants
But this is is favorite part about Fathers Day. He loves that little girl, and boy does she love him!!! She is really great at giving kisses now!
Happy Fathers Day Kelly!!
Tantrums
And then we get to Red Butte Gardens and she is happy as a Lark. No tears, no fussing - all peaches and cream when Grandma is around.
Later on I did find that she had burned her little fingers on my oven, so that could have been part of the tantrums...but most of it was her being a raptor! So now we are starting to try something new. Everytime she decideds to yell at me I get the spray bottle and spray her in the face with a very fine mist of water and then camly tell her we don't scream then show her the sign language for whatever she wants or things she needs. Its a trying time... well see. No more raptor screams I might go crazy!! Having kids is just like raising a dog....
Scottish Festival
This is what they were watching and our favorite part. Actually this guy is Russells bagpip instructor ( I don't know if I am supposed to share that with people. I don't know anyone knows he takes classes or wants people to know so pretend you don't know) But oh man I could listen to them play all day!
This year we hit the sauce a little early - gotta have our Bison Brew!
Until Next year.....

April in review
We had our first Easter... loved to play with all the eggs mom had out for decoration
And wear the baskets on our head....
Easter morning Mom sent Dad and Kairi on a Easter egg hunt to find their easter baskets. They had 12 clues they had to go through and each clue led them to a egg with a different clue. It took them about an hour to get through all my clues. Some were hard some were easy. Kairi sure was a good helper!
Finally they had found there baskets... I had them hiding in the cedar chest. It was a fun way to have easter egg hunt
We took Kairi swimming again, after some warming up and watching all the other kids play in the water she decided it was okay to be in the water. She walked (well holding on to one of us) all over the water. She laughed and laughed and she loved swimming!
And Kairi loves books!! She finds them and just reads to herself. This one is a picture book of our wedding. Everytime we are downstairs she finds it and flips through it. The things that must go on in her head.
Well that was a short version of our April. We did lots more, we celebrated my Mom and my brother Russell Birthday. We had Easter dinner at my house (didn't get one picture of that though) it was a fun month, one that just FLEW by right before my eyes! Hope Im better at blogging in the future.. but since its already the end of May and I'm just getting April posted I doubt it! I'll try to be better in the future. Now only if it would stop raining long enough to enjoy spring around here.
