Work

So this is random but I have had a few people ask about what I do at Fox - and wanting to come see the studio. Well I thought I would bring some of the studio to all of you! I took these during the Sunday morning show so its pretty empty at the studio but at least you get a feel for the studio in general.

Welcome to Fox 13 Studios!!

This is what the studio looks like. The first desk is Dan Evans - its right in front of my desk. He is the first person I see when I come to work - and I am required to say HI to him first before everyone else (a fun little joke we have)
All the TV's in the back are like every network imaginable. They are always on (without sound) The assignment desk is the far back desk before all the monitors that they have scanners at and you can hear everything going on. It gets crazy and busy up there.
Of course to the left is the anchor desk where they sit and they do the news daily. The weather desk is far left way in the back, you can see John Goulet's head.

Birds eye view from my desk. they were actually live at this moment when I took it. That is Tamara and John doing the Sunday morning news. We have 3 cameras that the producers can choose from (far left you can kind of see them) the TV monitor is for weather when John is at the anchor desk, if he is doing longer weather he is at the blue screen (you can see it in the back left side of picture)

We have to check the lights everyday and replace at least one light every day.

This is my desk! The arrow is pointing to my job - I turn that scroll thing and it moves the words on the two black TV screens. There is an arrow at the top of the screen that I try to keep the sentence they are reading at next to that arrow. Not always - but I'm still super good at it. The other computer monitor is the rundown of the show. Mine is connected with the producers, he will always make changes throughout the show. So when he makes changes mine is automatically updated that way the anchors always have the words on the screen. I often have to switch stories in the middle because they forget or the video feed isn't working, or the audio isn't working on a live shot so I have a mouse on top of the first little monitor that I can use to go to another story quickly at any time.

Hmm I don't know what else I could tell you about my job other than I love it at Fox. Its so fun, the anchors are so much fun and so nice all of them. I have had the opportunity to work with most of them by now and I love them all.

Hope you enjoyed your mini tour of Fox 13~
