Isn't it a beauty?
Growing up we had these lovely things in huge plants around our house. I love them, I love the way they smell, I love the wya they look. I remember you could walk into my moms room and instantly smell them from the open window - they grew right outside her window. We used to pick them and make arrangments for the house all the time. I love the purple ones but we also had white ones growing up. They remind me so much of my childhood.
So when we moved into our house we had a very small Lilac bush growing in the northwest corner of our house. Kelly doesn't like lilacs, they make him sneeze, make his eyes itch basically make his life horrible - but really what thing that grows doesn't? Well he wanted to pull the bush out!!! How dare he say those words. Well as you can see I won, as long as I promised not to bring them in the house. But for 4 years now it hasn't done much but just grow and not produce anything. Well as you can see it has, one patch of lilacs were discovered yesterday and I couldn't have been more excited. Childhood memories came flooding back. MMMM I love lilacs.
Sooo... with that I think it needs to be said:Dear Penelope Rose,
Pleaes don't inherit your fathers horrible allergies so you can too one day enjoy lilacs as much as I do!
Love you,
Mom

yes - beautiful, as is the rest of your landscape.
Oh, don't make me cry. I love lilacs too and I miss my bush in EM. Yes, I hope your baby doesn't get all of Kelly's allergies :)
Came across your blog today! Wohoo!!
I'm glad to know someone is as obsessed with lilacs as I am. I secretly want to go steal our bush back from Rich's. It misses me.
